grab and go lesson plans

our lesson plans

Need some inspiration for the day?  Help yourself to one of our lesson plans.  Each lesson plan will give you the following information:

  • proficiency level
  • age level
  • student learning outcomes

The lessons are formatted as an ESA (Engage, Study, Activate) sequence or some variation of that sequence.  By using our lesson plans, you will know exactly what you are teaching and what the goals of the lessons are.

Many of our plans involve Information Gap (IG) activities.  IG activities are structured so that one student is missing information that their partner can supply and vice versa.  These create highly communicative language learning situations–communication must happen in order to complete the activity.

We also use some abbreviations in our plans.  You might see some of the following:

  • st = student
  • sts = students
  • E = engage
  • S = study
  • A = activate
  • IG = Information Gap
  • SLO = student learning outcome (what you want the students to be able to do by the completion of the lesson)

Have fun and happy teaching!
